About the Organization
Lake Shore Gold (a subsidiary of Pan American Silver) is located in Timmins, Ontario. The Bell Creek Complex, located approximately 20 kilometers northeast of Timmins, consists of an underground mine and processing facility. Mineralization is associated with the Porcupine-Destor fault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt, with ore mined by narrow vein longhole stoping methods. Ore is then transported to the surface via a modern 1080m deep shaft capable of 4800tpd.

About the Opportunity
We are looking to hire (2) Core Logging Geologists to join our Exploration Team in Timmins, ON., on a 12-month contract. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 8 hrs/day.
In this role, you will assist the underground diamond drill group primarily logging core for the Bell Creek and Timmins West mine sites as well as for various regional exploration projects. You may also be required to assist with creating diamond drill hole layouts, entering daily drill statistics, and sectional interpretations of the targeted zones.
Please note that this role requires relocation to the Timmins area and is not a camp-based position.
Position Details
Compensation: This position offers a compensation range of $38.00-$43.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
Vacancy Status: This is an existing vacancy. The successful candidate may begin as soon as possible.
More About You
While our ideal candidate has the following qualifications, we welcome applicants who may not meet every criterion to apply.
- Must either be an PGO member or be eligible to apply for PGO or GIT membership in the Province of Ontario
- 1-3 years’ experience working on diamond drill projects, conducting a variety of duties to assist the exploration/mine geologist.
- Familiar with logging, sampling of drill core and core handling procedure.
- Experience using computers and Microsoft Office programs.
