Lake Shore Gold, a subsidiary of Pan American Silver, is located in Timmins, Ontario. The Timmins West mine is located approximately 18 kilometers west of Timmins, Ontario, one of the world’s most prolific gold camps. Mineralization is associated with the Porcupine-Destor fault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt. The Timmins West mine is comprised of the Timmins deposit, the Thunder Creek deposit, and the 144 Gap deposit. All three deposits are interconnected by underground drifts.

About the Opportunity
We are looking to hire HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC APPRENTICES to join our team at the Timmins West Mine in Timmins, ON., on a full-time basis.
The schedule is 5-5-4, 10-hour shifts rotating days and nights each week.
In this role, you will safely and efficiently complete maintenance activities to maintain the reliability and condition of the mobile heavy equipment fleet throughout all areas of the mine. Duties include troubleshooting, cleaning, lubricating, adjusting, inspecting, repairing, component replacement and rebuilds, welding, fabrication, and low-voltage electrical repairs. This position is part of an apprenticeship training program under the guidance of a Lead Mechanic and includes completion of underground common core training, working on the beat, and both surface and underground shop maintenance.
Please note that this role requires relocation to the Timmins area and is not a camp-based position.
Position Details
Compensation: This position offers a compensation range of $25.90 - $46.60 per hour, based on qualifications and experience, experience evaluated based on completed trade hours.

More About You
While our ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications, we welcome applicants who may not meet every criterion to apply.
- Completed theoretical/in school Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Levels 1-3.
- Working towards gaining Red Seal Mechanical Certification
- Experience in an industrial setting is considered an asset
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Experience in a mining environment and welding certification are considered assets
- Basic UG Hard Rock Common Core is considered an asset
- Practice good housekeeping
- Be committed to safety
